Preslee Lynn was involved in a major car accident, far away from home in North Carolina, she sustained horrible injuries to her head and internal organs and is need as many prayers as we can get!! Pray warriors hit your knees and PRAY PRAY PRAY. Please check back for updates on our sweet girl!!!
I wanted to make a site that the general public could view to be updated on Preslee's healing, therapy and road to recovery. Many friends and family members of Preslee, do not have Facebook... so I thought this would be the easiest for everyone.
I, Lara (Preslee's Mommy) will be running and updating the site...and I will try to post atleast once a week...if not more...
First, I would like to share some photos with you... This first photo is one of the photos taken in the first week of her stay at Brenner Childrens Hospital, beginning on July 6th, 2013.
Today, I can glady share this next photos, taken 2 days ago..
The latest update on Preslee's progress is from Friday, July 26th.
Update: We had our Pediatric Surgery and Orthopedic Appointments today. Both went great! We had xrays of her femur, vertebra, neck, clavicle and wrist/arm. The newest happenings are:
-Adios Neck Brace
-We have an appointment in 2 weeks to take off her cast and take another xray - then recast if needed.
-Appointment in 4 weeks from today to re-xray her spine and "possibly" take off her turtle shell.
-Appointment in 4 weeks to evaluate her femur and possibly allow pressure.
-Her femur is healing well, with the plate and 7 screws, but there is an excess of bone being formed... the doctor said that this happens with brain injuries in children. It will need to be monitored, to ensure it does not get so large as to hinder her movement. IF it ever gets to be a problem, they would do surgery to remove excess bone.
-We did another lung xray today as well, and we are still waiting on those results.
-All her bandages were removed today, and the only visible bandages left are the strips on her femur incision.
Thank you all for your prayers, they are working! Please continue to pray for Preslee's understanding and tolerance for what she is going through...and help me to help her.... It is heartbreaking, even on good days, to watch your child endure this process. I love each and every one of you that are working along side of me to help Preslee get better.
Thank you all for following our journey!
Lara
