Thank you to JJ Watt and the Houston Texans! Preslee Style!
Preslee's accident and recovery and have touched so many hearts. It is hard for me to describe how many amazing stories we have heard, gifts we have received and prayers have been sent up to the Heavens. The latest amazing gift was that from the Houston Texans and JJ Watt. The Team sent a large gift bag with all kinds of fun stuff, and JJ sent Preslee a pink mini sized football with his autograph! Through the grapevine, we were told that IF we sent JJ a photo of P and the football, that he MAY come see Preslee... (which Im okay with I guess haha). So I asked Preslee what she thought about a photoshoot in Mommys studio... She decided she wanted to wear one of her new dresses from school, some lipgloss (of course) and make JJ a few signs and a personal drawing from her. I started photographing her while she drew..and when she was done we snapped some photos. JJ was given a packet of photos and information about Preslee... and she looked through it last night.... They were all photos of her in the hospital and a few of the updates I had written on the P4P page. At the end of the session, P asked if she could show JJ how she can stand up now (on one leg)... So she did. Hope you like the photos...and do me a favor.... share this and send it on... hopefully we can reach JJ and the Team again - just so they can see the huge smile they put on her face! GO TEXANS..P4P!!!!

From a First Responder to Me....
I have something I want to share with you all. I mentioned last night, that I heard from one of Preslee's First Responders. I am including my reply message to him, and his message back to me. This angel, has asked that I not make his name public, because he wants all glory given to God and does not want any thank yous for his service. Have a tissue handy, and help me in saying a prayer and thanking the man that was there to watch after Preslee at the one moment that I was not there.....
Lara
FROM LARA TO FIRST RESPONDER:
It is SO nice to hear from you!
This message has been in my "other" folder and I was just now able to see it.
I have been praying that I would hear from one of you.
Oh my gosh.
My phone number is 832 *** -****.
I have one question that has been bothering me for so long...
Was Preslee in pain and calling for me? I cant shake the fear that my baby needed me and I wasnt there. When I got the phone call at 6am in Houston, I drove to the airport as fast as I could and was in NC by 2pm.
Thank you so much for messaging me.
You are an angel, and I hope to be able to hug you one day.

FROM FIRST RESPONDER TO LARA:
Thank you for not mentioning me by name in your status earlier. The comments from your family and friends concerning me and my wife have touched and warmed our hearts. However, I feel I am unworthy of the praise thats been given. Where I work the fire dept gets the emergency calls about 30 seconds to a minute before the police receives the call. 2 other officers and I arrived at the same time the fire dept was arriving on scene. We are fortunate to have firemen who are highly trained in removing injured people from cars. They were the ones to treat and remove Preslee from the car.
To answer your question about Preslee, she never made any noise when I was near her. When I saw her she was still in the car. She appeared to be staring past the ceiling of the car at something in the distance. She looked like she was awake but never cried out in pain. Her eyes seemed to twinkle while she was still in the car. As I left the car to attend to other things, I kept feeling drawn to come back and check on her as the firemen worked to free her. I bet I walked back to the car a half dozen times checking on her. Everytime I came back she never made a sound and kept staring off in the distance.
The day I originally wrote you, one of our accident reconstructionist had shared a picture from the pray4preslee page. I recognized the twinkle in her eyes and knew it was her. I then felt the urge to write you. At the time I didnt know why but I couldnt ignore the urge.
After reading your message everything has become clear to me. God put me at the wreck to watch. He was speaking through my heart and told me to write you a couple weeks ago. And I firmly believe that He was what Preslee was staring at while she was still in the car. The twinkle in her eyes made it look like she was smiling.
So to answer your question, I dont think she was in pain. I think our Heavenly Father was there comforting her and keeping her quiet while the rescue effort was under way.
I cant imagine the pain it caused you to not be here when she was hurt. At the risk of offending you, Im glad you werent here to see it happen. Thats not something anybody would want to see. I hope it comforts you to know that God was watching out for her and sent me to watch it so I could report it back to you. You got here when Preslee needed you the most.
I hope and pray that Preslee will continue to grow and heal and will be back to being a kid again soon.

Welcome to our Road to Recovery! (by Preslees Mommy)
Preslee Lynn was involved in a major car accident, far away from home in North Carolina, she sustained horrible injuries to her head and internal organs and is need as many prayers as we can get!! Pray warriors hit your knees and PRAY PRAY PRAY. Please check back for updates on our sweet girl!!!
I wanted to make a site that the general public could view to be updated on Preslee's healing, therapy and road to recovery. Many friends and family members of Preslee, do not have Facebook... so I thought this would be the easiest for everyone.
I, Lara (Preslee's Mommy) will be running and updating the site...and I will try to post atleast once a week...if not more...
First, I would like to share some photos with you... This first photo is one of the photos taken in the first week of her stay at Brenner Childrens Hospital, beginning on July 6th, 2013.
Today, I can glady share this next photos, taken 2 days ago..

The latest update on Preslee's progress is from Friday, July 26th.
Update: We had our Pediatric Surgery and Orthopedic Appointments today. Both went great! We had xrays of her femur, vertebra, neck, clavicle and wrist/arm. The newest happenings are:
-Adios Neck Brace
-We have an appointment in 2 weeks to take off her cast and take another xray - then recast if needed.
-Appointment in 4 weeks from today to re-xray her spine and "possibly" take off her turtle shell.
-Appointment in 4 weeks to evaluate her femur and possibly allow pressure.
-Her femur is healing well, with the plate and 7 screws, but there is an excess of bone being formed... the doctor said that this happens with brain injuries in children. It will need to be monitored, to ensure it does not get so large as to hinder her movement. IF it ever gets to be a problem, they would do surgery to remove excess bone.
-We did another lung xray today as well, and we are still waiting on those results.
-All her bandages were removed today, and the only visible bandages left are the strips on her femur incision.
Thank you all for your prayers, they are working! Please continue to pray for Preslee's understanding and tolerance for what she is going through...and help me to help her.... It is heartbreaking, even on good days, to watch your child endure this process. I love each and every one of you that are working along side of me to help Preslee get better.
